My company, Echobatix, is a regional finalist in the Best Tech for Good category of The Timmy Awards. We’re a scrappy little startup, and we could use your vote!
Echobatix develops assistive tech for blind and visually impaired (BVI) people. Our Point and Speak beta app makes touch screens accessible.

Although the percentage of people who are blind or visually impaired is not large, the community represents a lot of people worldwide — 250+ million people, by most estimates.
Even for BVI people with access to the internet, outreach is difficult. Much of the internet still has poor accessibility. Word of mouth is still important, even when it comes to technology like our Point and Speak app.
Advancing to the national level in the Best Tech for Good category of The Timmy Awards would help us reach more people.
